Aardlekautomaat
Met een aardlekautomaat bent u zeker van een goede beveiliging van uw elektrotechnische installatie. Een aardlekautomaat beveiligt uw elektrische installatie tegen hoge lekstromen, kortsluiting en overbelasting. In feite is het een soort combinatie van de aardlekschakelaar en de installatieautomaat. Doordat in een aardlekautomaat de aardlekschakelaar en installatieautomaat gecombineerd worden is deze multifunctioneel. Een groot voordeel van de aardlekautomaat is dat bij lekstroom alleen de groep waarin de storing plaatsvindt spanningsloos wordt, de overige groepen worden niet uitgeschakeld. Verder kunt u via de aardlekautomaat precies zien in welke groep de storing zich bevindt.
Een ander groot voordeel van een aardlekautomaat ten opzichte van een installatieautomaat en een aardlekschakelaar, is dat wanneer deze het elektrisch circuit onderbreekt de aardlekautomaat alleen de groepen uitschakelt die aan de automaat gekoppeld zitten. Hierdoor valt dus de stroom weg in slechts één specifieke groep waardoor de rest van de groepen in de groepenkast uw woning of bedrijfspand gewoon voorzien blijven van elektriciteit.
Net als een installatieautomaat heeft ook een aardlekautomaat uitschakelkarakteristieken. Deze zorgen ervoor dat in specifieke situaties de installaties spanningsloos worden. De karakteristieken geven aan bij welke piekstroom de aardlekautomaat uit dient te schakelen. De uitschakelkarakteristieken zijn als volgt:
- B-karakteristiek: De meest toegepaste karakteristiek bij automaten in woningen.
- C-karakteristiek: Deze karakteristiek wordt toegepast bij middelgrote inschakelstromen zoals wasmachines, koelkasten en diepvriezen.
- D-karakteristiek: Wordt uitsluitend gebruikt bij het opstarten van machines met grote inschakelstromen zoals motoren van werktuigmachines.
- Overige uitschakelkarakteristieken (K-kar): Worden uitsluitend voor de industrie gebruikt. Zo worden installatieautomaten met het K-karakteristiek alleen gebruikt bij verbruikers met een hele sterke werkstroom.
De Klasse A aardlekautomaten van Hager hebben bijvoorbeeld een B-karakteristiek, deze worden dus voornamelijk gebruikt bij kleine start- of inschakelstromen zoals verlichting, elektrische fornuizen of elektrische verwarming. Daarnaast hebben onder andere de Siemens 5SU3 aardlekautomaten een C-karakteristiek. Verder vindt u in de System Pro M serie van ABB Haf aardlekautomaten met zowel een B-kar, C-kar als K-kar.
