Installatieautomaat
Een installatieautomaat, ook wel groep of zekeringsautomaat genoemd, beschermt apparaten tegen beschadiging die kan ontstaan door kortsluiting of overbelasting van het stroomnet. Op het moment dat een installatieautomaat te hoge elektrische stromen meet, zal het elektrische circuit worden verbroken om niet alleen de apparatuur maar ook de bewoners of gebruikers van het betreffende gebouw te beschermen tegen bijvoorbeeld brand. Een aardlekschakelaar en installatieautomaat dienen beiden ter beveiliging in uw meterkast, maar hebben toch een belangrijk verschil. De aardlekschakelaar schakelt uit bij lekstroom terwijl de installatieautomaat uitschakelt bij kortsluiting en overbelasting. Ook kunt u met een installatieapparaat makkelijker een groep in- en uitschakelen. Dit is erg handig wanneer u een elektrisch apparaat wilt aansluiten of vervangen.
Normaliter worden installatieautomaten geïnstalleerd op de DIN-rail in uw groepenkast. Bij ABB Haf vindt u installatieautomaten met een veel gemakkelijkere installatie. Alle producten uit ABB Haf’s Hafonorm serie zijn uitgerust met een Busboard. Op dit busboard kunnen gemakkelijk installatieautomaten (flexomaten) en aardlekautomaten (comfomaten) geklikt worden. U hoeft dus nauwelijks moeite te doen voor de installatie, het gebeurt ook nog eens super veilig en zonder kans op elektrocutie!
Om ervoor te zorgen dat in specifieke situaties de installaties spanningsloos worden, wordt er gebruik gemaakt van uitschakelkarakteristieken. Deze karakteristieken geven aan bij welke piekstroom de installatieautomaat uit dient te schakelen. De uitschakelkarakteristieken zijn als volgt:
- B-karakteristiek: De meest toegepaste karakteristiek bij automaten in woningen.
- C-karakteristiek: Deze karakteristiek wordt toegepast bij middelgrote inschakelstromen zoals wasmachines, koelkasten en diepvriezen.
- D-karakteristiek: Installatieautomaten met een D-karakteristiek worden uitsluitend gebruikt bij het opstarten van machines met grote inschakelstromen zoals motoren van werktuigmachines.
- Overige uitschakelkarakteristieken (K, Z en S) : Worden uitsluitend voor de industrie gebruikt. Zo worden installatieautomaten met het K-karakteristiek alleen gebruikt bij verbruikers met een hele sterke werkstroom.
De installatieautomaten uit de Hager MHN serie hebben een B-karakteristiek. Deze automaten worden dus voornamelijk gebruikt bij kleine start- of inschakelstromen zoals verlichting, elektrische fornuizen of elektrische verwarming.
